Your costs. Your result.

The starting values are a hypothetical example, not a recommended wage or cleaning price. Include owner labor and a complete overhead allocation or the result can overstate profit.

Estimate a price and job margin

Include each cleaner’s paid cleaning, setup and travel time once. For uneven hours or pay, use average paid hours per cleaner and an hours-weighted hourly pay rate.

Labor
Owner-operators: include the hourly pay you want for your own cleaning time.
Use your actual payroll taxes, insurance, benefits, and other labor costs.

Price, fees and margin
Your percentage fee on the pre-tax job price. Enter fixed transaction fees under Other job costs. Count each fee once.
Optional. Compare a quote with your estimated cost and target.

SEE THE MATH BEHIND THE PRICE.

Loaded labor = cleaner-hours × base hourly pay × (1 + additional labor-cost percentage)

Job cost before percentage fees = loaded labor + supplies + vehicle cost + allocated overhead + other job costs

Price for target margin = job cost before percentage fees ÷ (1 − target margin − fee rate)

Profit here means the planned customer price minus entered job costs and percentage payment fees. It is a planning estimate before income tax and before any cost you omitted. Margin plus fee rate must stay below 100%. With $120 of costs, a chosen 30% margin and a hypothetical 3% fee, the target price is $120 ÷ 0.67 = $179.10, rounded to cents. The fee is based on the final pre-tax price; account for fees on tax or tips separately.

Paid travel labor belongs in paid hours; vehicle mileage is a separate cost. Count each cost once. The 35% starting margin is an example, not an industry benchmark. Cost-based prices still need a scope and market check. For worked examples and limitations, read the complete house cleaning pricing guide.

CHANGE THE INPUTS. CHECK THE TRADE-OFF.

  • The $0.76 example mileage input is the IRS optional business standard mileage rate for July 1 through December 31, 2026. It is editable and is not proof of your actual vehicle cost. IRS standard mileage rates.
  • The 15% labor-cost input is only a hypothetical starting value. Replace it with your actual employer taxes, workers' compensation, benefits, paid leave, and other labor costs.
  • The calculator is educational, not legal, tax, accounting, or wage-and-hour advice. Verify applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
