What is included
The details that make the document useful
Invoice and service dates
Use an invoice number, issue date, due date, and the completed visit date. Describe the agreed payment terms.
Itemized completed work
Enter the cleaning service and any extras actually provided, with quantities and unit prices. Keep unapproved or unperformed work off the invoice.
Tax and payments received
Enter the applicable tax amount and subtract deposits or other payments already received once. Check the remaining balance before sending.
Payment instructions
Tell the customer how to pay using the methods your business actually accepts, with a contact for questions.
Completed example
Completed work, less a deposit already paid
The fictional customer has received the initial clean and oven extra. Their $50 deposit was already collected. The invoice records those completed services and subtracts the deposit once.
Hypothetical figures in USD, not recommended market rates. Example tax is zero for illustration; enter the applicable tax amount for your work. Replace example payment terms with your actual agreement.

From a blank copy to a document you can send
Start with a blank copy
Print the blank PDF, or save the Excel workbook and use its Template sheet. Keep the completed example for reference, separate from the invoice you send.
Identify the completed clean
Add your business, customer, service address, invoice number, and dates. Itemize work that was actually performed at the agreed price.
Reconcile the balance
Enter applicable tax and any deposit or payment already received. Review the spreadsheet's calculated amounts and make sure a payment has not been subtracted twice.
Add payment instructions and send
Use your agreed due date and real payment methods. Save a copy and update your records when payment arrives. The template itself does not collect a payment or send a reminder.

Before you use the template
Is this cleaning invoice template free?
Yes. Download the printable blank PDF, editable Excel workbook, and completed example without an account or email. You do not need a Cleanr subscription to use them.
Is an invoice the same as an estimate?
No. An estimate proposes work and a price before approval. An invoice records billable work and the amount due. Use the estimate template for the proposal, then prepare an invoice for the actual agreed work.
How do I account for a deposit?
Record only a deposit or payment you have actually received in the payments section. The workbook subtracts it from the total once to calculate the balance due.
Does the template collect online payments?
No. Add your own actual payment instructions. In Cleanr, online invoice payment links require connecting Cleanr Pay through Stripe; the free spreadsheet does not create a payment link.
